When it comes to upholstery, no two projects are the same — and that’s exactly why we give you the flexibility to choose how your furniture is finished.

At Edison & Day®, all of our furniture is made to order, which means every piece is upholstered by hand by our expert team. This not only ensures exceptional quality and attention to detail, but also gives you the freedom to customise how your fabrics are used — from the seat cushions to the arm tops.

We offer a range of standard fabric configurations, each identified by a simple U number, to make it easy to specify how you’d like different fabrics to be applied across each product:

What do the U numbers mean?

U1 – Upholstered in [Fabric 1]
U2 – Upholstered in [Fabric 1], with [Fabric 2] for the Seat Cushion Only
U3 – Upholstered in [Fabric 1], with [Fabric 2] for the Seat Cushion and Base Only
U4 – Upholstered in [Fabric 1], with [Fabric 2] for the Seat Base, Seat Back and all Cushions
U5 – Upholstered in [Fabric 1], with [Fabric 2] for the Arm Tops/Facings and all Inside Panels
U6 – Upholstered in [Fabric 1], with [Fabric 2] for the Seat Cushion and Back Only
U7 – Upholstered in [Fabric 1], with [Fabric 2] for all Inside Panels including Seat Base and Cushion
U8 – Upholstered in [Fabric 1], with [Fabric 2] for the Arm Tops/Facings and all Inside Panels including Seat Base; Seat Cushion in [Fabric 3]
U9 - Upholstered in [Fabric 1], with [Fabric 2] for Armtops and all Inside inc Seat Base. Seat Cushion only in [Fabric 3]
UA - Upholstered in [Fabric 1], with [Fabric 2] for Armtops, Inside Arms, Arm facings, Seat Cushion & Seat Base
